VITEZ, Aug 4 (Hina) - A joint session of representatives of the
Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and the Army of Bosnia-Herzegovina
was held last night in Vitez (central Bosnia) because of Monday's
raid of the Bosnian army's troops to positions previously
controlled by the Bobovac-Vares HVO units on Mount Zvijezda (some
30 km. N. of Sarajevo). The session was attended by representatives
of the joint headquarters of the Bosnian army and HVO, Brigadier
Kemal Hindic and Ante Malisan, the Vitez HVO commander, Filip
Filipovic, the Bosnian army's General Vahid Karahem and the command
of the Bobovac-Vares HVO units.
The participants assessed the current situation in the area
and agreed that Bosnian army's troops should withdraw from the
captured positions on Mount Zvijezda by 12:00 hrs Thursday, August
4. By the same time the Bosnia army is to return all arms to the
Bobovac-Vares HVO units, which they seized on August 1. At
yesterday's meeting it was also agreed that the Bosnian army's
forces should withdraw to the disengagement lines that had existed
in the time of signing a peace accord.
The joint headquarters of the Bosnian army and HVO assumed a
task to send an expert commission to the ground to resolve all
contentious issues in this crisis area in the spirit of the peace
accord between the Army of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Croatian
