DARUVAR, Aug 3 (Hina) - Mayor of Daruvar Ivan Cegledi sent an open
letter Wednesday to the Croatian President, Government and
Parliament calling for the exclusion of the Daruvar and Grubisno
Polje municipalities from the UN-protected area.
"The exclusion of this part of Croatia from the UNPA would
revive the stagnant economy and encourage foreign investment," the
letter said.
"The inclusion of this war-ravaged area into the UNPA caused
additional material damage and destabilization of the economy, and
left deep marks and fear of uncertainty on the people," the letter
said.
