MOSTAR, Aug 1 (Hina) - President of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina Kresimir Zubak expressed disappointment at the fact
that the five-nation Contact Group on Bosnia-Herzegovina had failed
to fulfil its promises about the consistent enforcement of
sanctions against those who reject its peace plan.
Speaking of the latest Geneva talks and views of the Contact
Group, Zubak told a press conference in Mostar on Monday that "it
is obvious that Contact Group members are unable to fulfil what
they have promised." "It turned out that the unity of the Contact
Group is not firm," he noted.
Commenting on a statement by Serbian President Slobodan
Milosevic, in which he urged the Bosnian Serbs to accept the
Contact Group peace plan, Zubak said it was a "positive step
forward by the Serbian side."
However, Zubak stressed that all statements by Serb
representatives shoud be taken with reserve as their intentions
were not clear and were aimed at deceiving the international
public.
Zubak also spoke about his and Vice-President Ejup Ganic's
visit to several towns in central and northern Bosnia. He said that
a few incidents had been recorded after the signing of the
Washington accords in towns which had been a model for good Croat-
Moslem cooperation. "There will be difficulties in the
implementation of the Washington agreement, but incidents have to
be prevented," he said.
