ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - The International Federation of
Journalists (IFJ) urged the Croatian Ministry of Culture and
Education on Thursday to revoke its decision of July 1 imposing on
the Split-based weekly "Feral Tribune" 50-percent turnover tax
which brought the magazine to the brink of ruin.
The IFJ said in a statement that the decision was "political
revenge of the Government against one of the rare provocative and
independent publications in the country."
