ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - The trade union of workers in hospitals and
officials in the public health issued today a statement in which it
welcomed the conclusion of the Croatian Constitutional Court to
rescind a decision of the Croatian Office for Health Insurance on
wages of employees in the public health. The Court established that
the decision had violated the Croatian Constitution.
The trade union also welcomed the intentions of Minister of
Health Andrija Hebrang to resign from his office due to the fact
that he had signed the decision which disobeyed the Constitution.
But the Minister Hebrang had signed the decision thinking it was in
conformity to the Constitution, and therefore he should resign from
the post of Minister of Health, said the same statement. The trade
union said that it expected a collective agreement would be
reached and signed by the end of June on wages for employees in the
public health.
