BUDAPEST, Jun 2 (Hina) - An explosive device planted in a Catholic
church in Segedin, Hungary, went off on Thrusday morning, only a
few hours after the blowing up of a doorway off a Franciscan church
in Subotica (northern-Serbian region of Vojvodina).
According to an unofficial story run by the Nopszabadsag
daily, the device had been left in the doorway of the Segedin
church.
An elderly lady who was going to matins noticed the device,
camouflaged as a bulky parcel, and dropped it in a nearby litter
basket, where it exploded at about 06:00 hours.
The whole affair stirred up considerable concern in Budapest.
The Hungarian government ordered a thorough investigation into the
case, which may be connected with the Subotica explosion.
