KARLOVAC, Apr 4 (Hina) - Two UNPROFOR check-points in the Karlovac
area were set up today according to the cease-fire agreement signed
by representatives of the Croatian government and rebel Serbs in
Zagreb on 29 March 1994. One of the opened check-points is at the
village of Turanj, near Karlovac (50 km south of Zagreb), while the
other one is located in Vojnovac, near Ogulin ( some 80 kilometres
south of Zagreb).
Withdrawal of heavy weaponry is scheduled to start tomorrow,
whereas on 8 April withdrawal of infantry troops for 1 kilometres
far from the confrontation line is to commence at the both sides of
the battlefield.
UNPROFOR troops are to be deployed in buffer-zones. If some
misunderstanding occurs, UNPROFOR police, together with the
Croatian police and police of the Serb authorities from the
occupied areas, will patrol within the buffer-zones.
