MOSTAR, Apr 2 (Hina) - A nine-year old boy was killed and a
civilian was seriously wounded in a Serb artillery attack on the
Orasje area, north-eastern Bosnia, on Friday night. According to
this morning's report of the Herzeg-Bosnian defence ministry, the
area was hit by over 50 long-range artillery shells. The attack
inflicted substantial material damage.
Croatian Defence Council (HVO) positions in the area also came
under firece mortar and anti-aircraft machine-gun fire. HVO forces
had no choice but to return fire, after which the attack let up.
Movements of Serb military vehicles were sighted on the
Bosanski Samac-Novo Selo-Baktusa road. A Serb helicopter landed at
Jenjici, where Serb troops were observed mustering on Friday night.
In the Mostar area, Serb guerrillas stationed on Mount Velez
opened anti-aircraft machine-gun fire at the local hydroelectric
power plant, but no damage was caused, said the report.
The report added that the cease-fire was observed by Moslem
and Croat forces across Bosnia-Herzegovina.
