ZAGREB, March 16 (Hina) - The International Committee of the Red
Cross (ICRC) sent its first convoy from Split (southern Croatia) to
the town of Konjic (northern Herzegovina) on Tuesday, according to
today's statement of the ICRC office in Zagreb. The 8 truck-ICRC
convoy was able to deliver 80 MT of relief supplies to some 5,000
beneficiaries in Konjic.
According to the same statement, Konjic was cut off owing to
the fighting and the ICRC could not dispatch humanitarian aid there
since May 1993.
The ICRC delivered 1,950 MT of relief supplies last week
throughout Bosnia-Herzegovina and the UNPAs in Croatia from the
ICRC three main warehouses in Zagreb, Belgrade and Split, said the
same source.
