USORA, March 4 (Hina/HABENA) - A member of the Croatian Defence
Council (HVO) was killed by Serb sniper fire in the central Bosnian
Croat enclave of Usora (150 km north of Sarajevo) on Friday
morning, the local HVO command said.
Serb mortars overnight fiercely pounded civilian targets in
the villages of Ularice, Bejici and Alibegovci, inflicting
extensive material damage. This morning, Serb infantry renewed
attempts to break through the 20-km-long line of defence.
The source said many Moslems and Croats from Serb-occupied
Doboj and Teslic had been forcibly mobilized into the Serb military
as part of the systematic troop build-up in the Usora region.
This major Serb offensive against the Croat enclave has been
in progress 46 days.
