TIRANA, March 1 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman formally
opened the Croatian Embassy in Tirana on Tuesday. The opening
ceremony was attended by members of the visiting Croatian state
delegation and Ambassador Mladen Jurisic as well as Albanian
President Sali Berisha and other top Albanian officials.
President Tudjman said in a speech that cooperation between
Croatia and Albania would contribute to stability in the region.
"Albania and Croatia should be the mainstay of international order
in southeast Europe," the Croatian president stressed.
President Berisha said "the opening of the Croatian Embassy
would mark a new page in the development of cooperation between the
two countries."
