BUCHAREST, Feb 15 (Hina) - Talks between the Croatian and Romanian
delegations led by presidents Tudjman and Iliescu were held in
Bucharest on Monday afternoon.
Iliescu stressed that the Romania was now faced with the
economic reforms, consequences resulting from the privatization
process, introduction of market economy, reorganization of economy
and its linking with the western world.
As the foreign policy was concerned President Iliescu said
that Romania's intention was to maintain friendly relations with
all the countries of the former Yugoslavia. He welcomed the signing
of the declaration on the normalization of Croatian and Serb
relations and its soon implementation. He said that Romania
advocated a peaceful end to the conflict in B-H through
negotiations.
Speaking of Croatian economy, President Tudjman emphasized
that its main problems were the termination of privatization
process, beginning of denationalization and reorganization of large
public firms.
The two delegations both stressed the successful development
of relations between the two countries. The agreements on
international transport, agreement on maritime traffic and protocol
on scientific and technological cooperation, to be signed on
Wednesday, would contribute to the future fruitful relations.
