MOSTAR, Feb 3 (Hina/HABENA) - "We want to return to our homes and
to continue to live in Sarajevo" stresses the letter of the
expelled Croats from Sarajevo, temporarily situated in Central
Bosnia. The letter is forwarded to Mile Akmadzic, who will be in
Bosnian Croats' delegation at the forthcoming round of the Geneva
negotiations on 10 February 1994. "We hold that the proposal on the
two-year-long U.N. protectorate over our city could be in
accordance with the interests of Croats to a certain extent. If the
city is to be divided, we request that You should also demand a
part under Croatian control (Croatian municipality, enclave, county
or something like that)," says the letter.
The letter concludes that the Moslem authorities of the city
have suppressed any kind of freedom for the Croatian population in
Sarajevo, especially since the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) of
Sarajevo was abolished.
