ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - The special envoy of the UN Secretary
General, Jasushi Akashi, met with a Japanese foreign ministry
delegation in Zagreb on Saturday evening.
Mr. Akashi explained the delegation, which main objective of
the visit to Croatia is "finding facts", his views on the situation
in the former Yugoslavia.
He also talked about possibilities of Japan's participation in
international activities, especially humanitarian, in the former
Yugoslavia, said a member of the delegation, the director of the
Department for Central and Eastern Europe in the Japanese Foreign
Ministry Masaki Okada. This possible engagement could be realized
in some areas where the situation is stable, in Macedonia and
Croatia, except UNPA Sector South, he added.
