BEIJING, May 30 (Hina) - Croatian President's Chief-of-staff Hrvoje
Sarinic, who is on an official visit to China, talked this
afternoon with Chinese Foreign Minister Quichen Quian.
Minister Quian expressed his concern over the latest
developments in former Yugoslavia, especially in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
In an interview to the Croatian news agency Hina, Sarinic said
he told Quian that the key to the solution to the crisis in former
Yugoslavia was in Belgrade. By prolonging the recognition of states
which were established after Yugoslavia's disintegration, Belgrade
authorities only fueled extremism of Bosnian and Croatian Serbs.
Both officials agreed that the solution to the crisis should
be reached by peaceful means.
Croatia was not abandoning negotiations as a means to solve
the crisis; it was Knin and Belgrade though that did not show any
interest in negotiations, Sarinic said and added that Croatia
expected from the international community to help revive the
negotiation process.
Sarinic arrived in Beijing on Monday in capacity of INA
(Croatian oil company) Supervisory board President and talked with
Dunxin Zhang, the President of SINOCHEM, a company INA has very
good business relations with.
On that occasion Sarinic and Zhang signed a protocol on
further cooperation between the two companies.
