SARAJEVO, May 25 (Hina) - UNPROFOR won't back away from Gen.
Smith's ultimatum to Serbs, and NATO aircraft will bomb Serb
positions around Sarajevo if they don't return the weaponry they
seized before noon today, spokesman Alexander Ivanko said today.
According to UN headquarters in Sarajevo, the Serbs had not
returned the stolen guns - three cannons and one mortar - by 11
a.m.
Meanwhile, Bosnian Serb troops blocked an artillery depot in
Poljine, north of Sarajevo, this morning.
Spokesman Gary Coward said the crew manning the depot could
not move around and were being treated as "some sort of hostages."
But the blockade had probably nothing to do with yesterday's
ultimatum, he deduced.
There are UN-controlled ten heavy-weapons depots around
Sarajevo, all of them situated in Serb-controlled areas. Each depot
is manned by 20 to 30 peace-keepers.
