PARLIAMENT DELEGATION VISITS PAKRAC AREA

PAKRAC, May 24 (Hina) - A group of 12 Croatian Parliament members - led by the head of the Parliament's Committee for Peaceful Reintegration, Drago Krpina, and the head of Parliament's Committee for Human and Minorities Rights, Ljubomir Antic - today visited Pakrac and Lipik area. Arranged in "troika" fashion, the lawmakers simultaneously visited each of the four liberated villages in Pakrac municipality - Japaga, Seovica, Kraguj and Gavrinica - for three-hour talks with the local people. They invited the remaining Serb civilians not to leave the area, and to urge their relatives, who had already left for Bosnia-Herzegovina, to come back. "This people have pointed out at the series of specific problems they have. But none of the problems is unsolvable," Ljubomir Antic said. "Many complained that their documents had not been returned to them, after their release from investigation centres. Many others are here just temporarily, in the surrounding villages, saying they would make their decisions after seeing the present shape of their houses. So we should meet their wishes as soon as possible," Antic said. "They say more people would decide to stay if we did so, and were unanimous in opinion that one single return would stop many departs," Antic said Asked to comment on reports saying that some people who had already left would like to return, Antic said he could not confirm the information.
