BOSNIAN FEDERATION'S PRESIDENT ZUBAK RECEIVES US GENERAL SEWALL

MOSTAR, May 17 (Hina) - A Bosnian Croat leader, currently the President of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak, today received the U.S. State Secretary's military adviser for the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, General John Sewall. Following the meeting, Zubak said Bosnian Croats held that the armed forces of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina should "at this stage be composed of two elements (Croatian Defence Council and Bosnian army)". Bosnian Croats held that the establishment of a joint army widened the authority of the already established Joint headquarters; in the next stage the supreme command over the joint army should be transferred to the President and Vice-President of the Federation, Zubak said. Zubak also said that the Bosniak (Moslem) side had considerably different positions and expressed his hope that these differences would be overcome soon. General Sewall expressed his satisfaction with his four-day inspection into the relations between the Croatian Defence Council and Bosnian army in the Federation, particularly in central Bosnia.
