ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - Croatia and the United Nations today
signed an agreement on the status of the UN peacekeeping force in
Croatia.
The agreement was signed by Croatian foreign minister Mate
Granic and UN special envoy Yasushi Akashi, a foreign ministry
statement said.
The agreement defines the status of UN troops and personnel
in Croatia in keeping with international law and the Croatian
legal system.
Granic informed Akashi about the progress of restoring
civil authorities and normalizing life in Western Slavonia, and
about efforts aimed at defusing tensions in separation zones, the
statement said.
