SEVERAL CIVILIANS SERIOUSLY WOUNDED IN SERB ATTACKS ON ORASJE

ORASJE, May 13 (Hina) - Serb aggressor fired more than 3,500 howitzer, cannon and mortar shells on the residential areas and commercial facilities in the Orasje area, northern Bosnia, during the day. Serbs also fired several bombs and multiple rocket- launcher shells, a report from the local Croatian Defence Council (HVO) command said on Saturday. Several civilians were severely wounded in these attacks but the assaults were decreasing, the report said. Supported by strong cannon fire, Serbs attempted several breakthroughs into the village of Grebnice which was exposed to artillery and infantry attacks of Serbs from Novo Selo and Batkusa. The fighting in that part of the front was still underway, the report said. Serb infantry based in the villages of Jenjic and Lepnica tried to break through the defence lines in the eastern part of the front, but were successfully repelled. According to reports, the enemy suffered great losses in manpower. All defence lines on the Orasje-Samac front were under firm control of HVO, the report said. (hina) rm mms 131911 MET may 95
