BONN, May 3 (Hina) - Since it was obvious that all Croatian cities
were within range of the Serb offensive weapons, Croatia should be
assisted to finally mop up its Serb-occupied areas, European
Parliament MP Bernd Posselt said Tuesday in Bonn.
Posselt strongly criticized the Ministerial Council of the
European Union for its "rigid status quo policy" on the Serb
occupying forces in Croatia.
"The brutal attack on Zagreb has proved that the status quo -
the Serb occupation of all key positions in Croatia - means
inevitable war," Posselt said.
"The cementing of the Serb occupation in the last few years
was abnormal and directed against the existence of Croatia. If
Croats have to handle it by themselves, we should at least lift the
arms embargo on them and refrain from attacking them politically
from the back," he added.
The process of seeking a political solution should go on, but
no "Serb dictate should be tolerated."
