DUBROVNIK, Apr 2 (Hina) - A working group for aid to war-damaged
universities in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina held a third session
today in Dubrovnik.
The working group, formed by the association of European
universities last year, consists of the Utrecht University rector
Hans Van Ginkel, as its head, the Zagreb University rector, Marijan
Sunjic, the Florence University rector, Paolo Blasi and a former
Krakow University rector, Andrei Pilczar.
The goals of the Dubrovnik session would be the gathering and
exchange of information and reports on war-damaged Croatian and
Bosnian universities as to facilitate coordination in the European
universities' material aid and scholarships for undergraduates and
professors from war-damaged universities, Rector Sunjic said.
He added that the Council of Europe was involved in the
action.
The third session in Dubrovnik was attended by Croatian
Parliament House of Counties Speaker, Katica Ivanisevic, heads of
the universities of Osijek, Rijeka and Split, and deans of several
colleges in Croatia as well as rectors of the Bosnian universities
of Sarajevo and Mostar.
