NEW YORK, March 31 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador to the U.N., Mario
Nobilo, on Thursday handed a letter from Croatian Foreign Minister,
Mate Granic, to U.N. Security Council Chairman, Chinese Ambassador,
Li Zhaoxing.
The letter said that Croatia would not agree to the
establishment of new U.N. forces if co-sponsors of the resolution
on the new UN mandate for Croatia did not agree that the official
name of the operation be "United Nations Confidence Restoration
Operation in Croatia".
Granic's letter said Croatia's termination of the UNPROFOR
mandate would be effective in Croatia on March 31, at 5 pm, New
York time, in line with Croatian views presented in another letter
on January 18.
