ATHENS/ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - Croatia's Deputy Foreign
Minister, Ivo Sanader, today in Athens met the Greek Minister of
Culture, Thanos Mikroutsikos, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said
in a statement.
Also present were the Croatian Ambassador to Athens, Ivica
Mastruko, and the Greek Ambassador to Zagreb, Konstantinos
Yerokostopoulos.
The meeting came after successful talks at the Greek Foreign
Ministry where the two countries signed a number of bilateral
agreements, inlcuding the agreement on cooperation in education,
culture and science.
The two ministers said they were pleased that the agreement
was signed, stressing the need for its implementation as soon as
possible.
Greece invited Croatia to participate in a European Union
project called "Salonika - Cultural Metropolis of Europe in
1997."
Agreement was reached on establishing a joint committee
which would work out a program for cultural cooperation between
the two countries.
