BELGRADE, March 8 (Hina) - Head of the Serb Orthodox Church,
Patriarch Paul, today received the head of the Croatian Govt.
Office in Belgrade, Zvonimir Markovic, at his request, the Office
said in a satatement.
The talks, conducted in a "sincere and open atmosphere,"
focused on seeking ways for a "just and durable solution to the
tragic conflicts in the region."
The pair stressed the need for "all the existing
misunderstandings, legal, political and ethnic disagreements to be
resolved by peaceful means, and never by war and bloodshed."
Patriarch Paul and Markovic agreed that war was an "absolutely
unacceptable option, regardless of the future of the UNPROFOR
mandate."
