ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - The head of the Hungarian Academy of
Sciences, Domokos Kosary, today became a corresponding member of
the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences (HAZU).
Mr. Kosary, an eminent historian, was presented with the
certificate on the membership by the head of the HAZU, Ivan Supek,
in Zagreb. Today's ceremony attracted Hungarian Ambassador to
Croatia, Gabor Bagi, and many HAZU members.
Mr. Kosary took the doctoral degree in history in 1936. He
attended universities in Paris and London and wrote several works
about Hungarian history. He was appointed as the head of Hungarian
Academy of Sciences in 1990.
Expressing gratitude for being accepted as a corresponding
member of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences Mr. Kosary said
he and his people were willing to continue cooperating with the
Croatian nation in various fields.
