CHICAGO, March 4 (Hina) - The governor of the state of Illinois,
Jim Edgar, declared the 4th of March the American-Croatian Day in
Illinois.
"There are 400,000 Americans of Croatian origin living in
Illinois, who have made an important contribution to the culture
and progress of the state," Governor Edgar said in a statement.
To mark the occasion, the Croatian-American Association is
hold its annual convention in Chicago today.
