ZAGREB, March 2 (Hina) - 'The Croatian Association of Press
Publishers' was established to protect the interests of publishers
and their joint performance before administrative bodies, the
public and other institutions.
The Association's interests were also the interests for the
democracy of the Croatian media, the Association representatives
today told a press conference in Zagreb.
Asssociation head, Miroslav Kutla, said the establishment
of this association was the first step towards the membership of
the international publishers association.
Ninoslave Pavic, of the Association's Board of Auditors, said
the Association would support the freedom of public information and
no taxation for newspapers. He also supported lifting the special
taxation off the Split-based daily "Feral Tribune".
