ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Hina) - Croatia's industrial production in January
1995 was up by 6.1 percent compared to the same period last year,
the Bureau of Statistics said today.
The highest figures were recorded in the production of raw
materials, capital goods and consumer goods.
Twenty of the 34 industrial branches registered production
growth.
The production of non-ferrous metals rose by 92.5 percent, oil
products industry reported a 42.8 percent increase, the production
of electric machines went up by 31.3 percent while the engineering
industry registered 27.4 percent production growth.
Substantial production drops were recorded in the iron and
steel industry, 44.8 percent; the leather and fur industry, 20.2
percent; the leather footwear industry, 16.3 percent; and the
shipbuilding industry, 12.5 percent.
