SARAJEVO, Feb 23 (Hina) - The UN in Sarajevo today accused Bosnian
media as well as civilian and military authorities, of obstructing
the UN mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina with an orchestrated campaign
against UN personnel.
UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko said that recently the Bosnian
military authorities had been obstructing the movement of UN
peacekpeers and arresting UN staff.
Ivanko cited as an example, the arrest four days ago of an
interpreter who worked with the UN in Gorazde, and UNPROFOR
engineers who were stopped last night by Bosnian military police at
an approach road to Sarajevo.
Two weeks ago Bosnian army troops had blocked UN Dutch
peacekeepers in the eastern enclave of Srebrenica for 48 hours.
He said that Sarajevo media had waged an anti-UNPROFOR
campaign employing false or maliciously interpreted information.
Ivanko stressed that senior Bosnian government officials were
also involved in the campaign.
