SARAJEVO, Feb 13 (Hina) - Unidentified airplanes were seen last
night over Tuzla in northeastern Bosnia, the UNPROFOR Nordic
battalion has reported.
UN peacekeepers heard one transport airplane and one or two
more fighter-planes flying over the town.
As soon as they were alerted of these flights, UNPROFOR
headquarters asked NATO to investigate.
From bases in Italy, NATO immediately sent airplanes to Tuzla,
but no airplanes were identified.
The airplanes were first noticed Friday, but peacekeepers
could not identify the planes or confirm if they had landed at
Tuzla airport.
NATO radars also detected no airplanes or anything else which
was suspect.
UNPROFOR and NATO have started to investigate these mysterious
flights, but there were still no results.
"This is a complete mystery to us," an UNPROFOR official in
Zagreb said.
