ZAGREB, Feb 10 (Hina) - Croatian Vice Premier Ivica Kostovic and
the deputy head of the Government Office for Displaced Persons and
Refugees, Boris Cepin, today informed representatives of the Union
of Hungarians in Croatia, their committee for displaced persons,
and member of Parliament Ferenc Farag of the Government's strategy
to return displaced people to occupied territories.
Croatia's priority was the return of all displaced people to
all the currently occupied areas, Kostovic said.
Representatives of the Hungarian minority expressed full
support for the peaceful reintegration of occupied territories and
all Government decisions which would lead to the return of
displaced people. An estimated 9,000 Hungarians were expelled from
the occupied territories.
The Hungarian Ambassador to Croatia, Gabor Bagi, who was also
present at today's meeting, said that Hungary would look after all
displaced people accommodated in Hungary until their safe return
was organised.
