DISPLACED PEOPLE AT PANEL ON KNIN-HEART OF CHRISTIANITY IN CROATIA

CROATIA $ ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - Some two hundred expelled people from Knin along with displaced persons form several other occupied towns and villages in UNPA Sector South, who are temporarily accommodated at the Sibenik area, Saturday arrived in Zagreb to give testimony about the plight inflicted on them during the Serb aggression on Croatia. The displaced people attended a panel organized by the Croatian Victimological Society in the Zagreb-based European House. The Victimological Society's head, Zvonimir Separovic, said at the panel that "there is no Croatia without the Zagreb-Split road through Knin", adding that "we condemn UN Protection Force's inefficiency and the notorious Z-4 plan under which Knin would be taken away from Croatia". Petar Zivkovic, a historian, spoke of the history of Knin, emphasizing that this town had been always the heart of Christianity among Croats, and since the 11th century it had been the political, military and cultural centre of entire Croatia. A message of the Sibenik Bishop, Msgr. Srecko Badurina, was read at the panel. The message emphasized that the self-styled Serb authorities in the occupied Croatian areas had prevented and forbidden Roman Catholic priests and bishops to visit Catholic believers who remained Knin.
