ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - A Croatian parliament delegation, attending
the first session this year of the Council of Europe's
Parliamentary Assembly, today supported the adoption of the
Convention on minority rights.
Croatian Parliament president Zarko Domljan, who was heading
the delegation, said the rights of minorities should imply their
obligation to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of
the country in which they lived.
Minorities should be a bridge for cooperation and good
neighbourly relations and not a reason for misunderstanding
conflict, Domljan said.
He said that Serbia used the Serb minority in Croatia to
undermine Croatia's constitutional system.
