ZADAR, Feb 1 (Hina) - UNPROFOR Sector South spokesman, Alun
Roberts, told a press conference today that UNPROFOR disapproved of
Knin Serb authorities not receiving Z-4 Group representatives and
looking at their plan.
However, UNPROFOR would continue to encourage the
implementation of the December 2 Economic Agreement, Roberts said.
He announced several meetings between Croatian and local Serb
experts to discuss water supplies in Zadar, Biograd, Sveti Filip,
Jakov, Benkovac, Drnis and other areas.
Roberts said UNPROFOR had installed two containers for civil
police near the villages of Bruska and Rodaljica in the Benkovac
surrounding. The UN police would patrol the villages so that the 31
remaining Croats in those villages would be more secure.
Asked what the Serbs thought of UNPROFOR's leaving soon,
Roberts said that the Serbs hoped Croatia would reconsider its
decision, because of the progress in the implementation of the
economic agreement. Roberts added that they also thought Croatia
could not decide alone about this matter.
