ZAGREB, Jan 24 (Hina) - Head of the UNPROFOR Civil Affairs
Department, Michel Moussali, visited Banja Luka at the week-end,
where he discussed human rights issues with Bosnian Serb official
Biljana Plavsic, UN spokesman Michael Williams told a news
conference today.
The talks focused chiefly on the implementation of human-
rights provisions of the Dec 21 Agreement on Cessation of
Hostilities in Bosnia. Moussali and Plavsic also discussed other
aspects of the implementation of that agreement.
This is the Civil Department's first appearance in Banja Luka
since October 1993.
It was agreed that UNPROFOR would henceforth keep in permanent
contact with Banja Luka authorities, Williams announced.
Moussali left two UN officials in Banja Luka to act as human-
rights monitors, in line with the Dec 21 Agreement.
Moussali also met Banja Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica and the
local Mufti Ibrahim Halilovic.
