STATEMENT FROM HDZ ON ESTABLISMENT OF NEW DEPARTMENTS

ZAGREB, Jan 9 (hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) held a session last Thursday chaired by President Franjo Tudjman, a statement from the HDZ chief secretary's office said on Monday. A proposal to establish a new secretary-general's office was adopted at the meeting. The office would have expert divisions: an administration department, a public relations department, an internal affairs unit, a department for the economy, a department for retirees, a unit for international relations, a department for members and appointment to offices, a farming and agricultural department, a department for social welfare with committees for displaced persons, refugees and war invalids, a department for education, culture, science and sport, an immigration department, a family and youth department, a department for environmental issues, a department for appeals and complaints, a finance department, as well as the Youth of the HDZ Department, the HDZ Foundation and the HDZ paper (Glasnik HDZ). The presidency believes that the establishment of expert departments will contribute to more efficient and politically successful activities of the party.
