ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received a delegation from the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and
the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia as well as five Croatian
Defence Council (HV0) commanders who were wounded at the Kupres
front, a statement from the President's office said.
Federation President Kresimir Zubak and HDZ B-H (Croatian
Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina) leader Dario Kordic wished
President Tudjman and the Croatian people a happy New Year.
The talks focused on the peaceful resolution of the Bosnian
crisis. Bosnian Croat representatives informed President Tudjman of
the situation on the ground and offered several concrete
suggestions for the prompt and successful establishement of the
Croat-Bosniac Federation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and its confedration
with Croatia. Western Mostar Mayor Mijo Brajkovic called for the
continuation of Croatia's support in the reconstruction of Mostar.
President Tudjman recalled his December address to the
Croatian Parliament, praising the contribution of Bosnian Croats to
the liberation of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina from Serb
aggressors. He also stressed the need for national unity and
outlined his demographic revival programme.
Reiterating his suport to the establishment of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its confederation with
Croatia, President Tudjman called on Herzeg-Bosnian officials to
spare no effort in the implementation of the Washington Accords.
The Bosnian Croat delegation included the President of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kresimir Zubak, Herzeg-Bosnian
Parliament Speaker Ivan Bender, Herzeg-Bosnian Prime Minister
Jadranko Prlic, Defence Minister Vladimir Soljic and his deputy Ivo
Lozancic, the HVO chief-of-staff Gen. Tihomir Blaskic, five HVO
commanders who had participated in the liberation of Kupres,
Bosnian Parliament Speaker Mariofil Ljubic, western Mostar mayor
Mijo Brajkovic, Bosnian HDZ leader Dario Kordic and others.
Also present were Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic,
Defence Minister Gojko Susak, head of the Croatian Information
Service Miroslav Tudjman, head of President Tudjman's military
cabinet Lt. Gen. Zvonimir Cervenko, President Tudjman's special
envoy Miomir Zuzul, President Tudjman's aides Ivic Pasalic,
Bosiljko Misetic and Slobodan Lang, HDZ general Secretary Zlatko
Canjuga and others.
