The three mass graves in Nijemci are estimated to contain 27
victims, exclusively elderly civilians killed in 1991 and later.
Six persons were exhumed during the hours of the morning, out
of which three were identified by forensic experts in the presence
of the families of the victims.
If some mortal remains cannot be identified, it will be done
in Zagreb at the centre for forensics.
The identification of exhumed bodies in areas liberated in
Croatian military operations "Storm" and "Flash" conveyed that the
persons found had belonged to the category of missing, imprisoned
or abducted persons, and the same is expected to be shown in
Nijemci.
So far, bodies have been exhumed in Podgradje and Apsevci in
the Srijem triangle, with the cooperation of UNTAES.
