SUSAK CONGRATULATES COHEN ON APPOINTMENT TO BE DEFENCE SECRETARY

ZAGREB, Dec 9 (Hina) - Croatia's Defence Minister Gojko Susak on Monday sent a letter to the newly-appointed U.S. Defence Secretary, Senator William Cohen congratulating him on the appointment. In the letter Minister Susak stressed that the United States showed to be a driving force on the world scene, the proof of which were the Washington and Dayton agreements. The role of American General Jacques Klein in the implementation of the UNTAES mandate in the Croatian Danubian area also represented an example of endeavours the United States was making in order to find peaceful resolutions of the crisis in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Minister Susak wrote in the letter, and expressed belief in successful continuation of cooperation.
