All the released prisoners were sent to the Croatian-Yugoslav
border, but some of the Serbs refused to move into Yugoslavia,
voicing their wish to stay in Croatia.
At the Split court-martial the Serb prisoners had faced
charges of armed rebellion and membership to the Serb paramilitary
force. Last month first trials for those criminal offences began at
the Split court-martial. However, the Split authorities set Serb
prisoners free last weekend in line with the General Amnesty Law.
