A Croatian government minister Branko Mocibob is heading a
Croatian delegation attending the session. The Alpe-Jadran Working
Association, which was established 17 years ago, gathers 19 members
and Croatia is one of its founders. The Association gathers state
and regional representatives from seven countries - Italy,
Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia.
Delivering a speech at the session, minister Mocibob said that
Croatia was interested in continuing cooperation within the
Association, especially on concrete projects.
Croatia saw its future in Central Europe and in strengthening
political, economic and technological cooperation with neighbouring
countries, but also in developing bilateral and trilateral
cooperation with certain countries, with the aim of optimally using
its comparative advantages.
'Croatia is not willing to support processes which could
integrate it back into institutional forms of cooperation of Balkan
states', Mocibob said speaking about regional initiatives in the
area of South-East Europe. Croatia's current priority was to join
the Central European Free Trade Association and strengthen its
position towards Central European countries, he said.
