CROATIA'S PRIME MINISTER MATESA MEETS FAO GENERAL DIRECTOR DIOUF

ROME, Nov 17 (Hina/AR) - Croatia's Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa, and the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) general director Jacques Diouf, on Sunday held talks on cooperation between Croatia and the FAO. At the Rome meeting Diouf expressed his view that Croatia's agricultural experts could work on implementation of some FAO programmes in underdeveloped countries. The FAO director was interested whether Croatian experts could apply their experience in war-damaged agriculture in some African countries. At the talks Matesa was accompanied by Croatia's Ambassador to Rome Davorin Rudolf and Agriculture Minister Matej Jankovic. The Croatian's delegation led by Prime Minister Matesa attended the FAO conference in Rome that ended on Sunday. (hina) mš 171422 MET nov 96
