SISAK, Nov 12 (Hina) - The director of the Austrian Cultural
Institute in Zagreb, Walter Maria Stojan on Tuesday visited Sisak
County, about 50 km southeast of Zagreb.
He discussed with county and municipal officials the
establishment of cultural, education and scientific cooperation and
the strengthening of friendly relations between Austria and this
part of Croatia.
Sisak County deputy prefect Ivan Kostecki informed the guest
about the situation in the region, particularly in the Banovina and
Kordun areas which had been liberated by the Croatian army in the
summer of 1995.
Kostecki thanked Austrian for its unselfish support and
assistance to Croatia and Sisak during the war.
