SPECIAL POLICE NEED MORE TIME FOR WITHDRAWAL - LEUTAR

MOSTAR, Nov 11 (Hina) - The time for completion of the pullout of Herzeg-Bosnian special police forces from Mostar by Tuesday (08:00 a.m. Nov. 12), is not sufficient, deputy to Bosnia-Herzegovina's (Croat-Moslem) Federation interior minister, said on Monday. The deputy Jozo Leutar said that the command of the International Police Task Force (IPTF) commissioner Peter Fitzegerald was hasty, as neither ministries of interior affairs had been established nor the laws on this matter passed in cantons and in the Federation. Herzeg-Bosnian special police forces would become part of anti-terrorist police forces at the federal level, he added. Commissioner Fitzegerald ordered withdrawal of Herzeg-Bosnian special police troops and armed guards by 08:00 a.m. Tuesday. Otherwise, according to the IPTF commissioner in Mostar Frank Server, NATO-led implementation peace force IFOR would act effectively. Because of tomorrow's deadline, Herzeg-Bosnian interior minister Valentin Coric and Fitzegerald met in Mostar on Monday. No details from the meeting were not available to reporters. In Bosnia-Herzegovina's southern town one could spot intensified presence of IFOR vehicles, stationed at several crossroads in the western part of Mostar (under Bosnian Croat control), particularly near the Herzeg-Bosnian special police headquarters.
