Federatin Forum session on the arrangement of Sarajevo, Bosnian
Federation President Kresimir Zubak told Sarajevo TV on Wednesday

"We spent a lot of time discussing the Sarajevo issue," he
said.
"The current idea is that there should be a Sarajevo canton,
which would encompass the city of Sarajevo, divided into
municipalities - but a Sarajevo district is still an option," Zubak
said.
The deputy to the civilian peace plan monitor, Michael
Stainer, is to draw up a final version of an agreement on Sarajevo,
Zubak said. Steiner is also to arbitrate between federal partners
if they fail to reach agreement on his proposal.
But according to Bosnian Prime Minister Hasan Muratovic, the
Sarajevo issue is linked to other open issues.
Also speaking for Sarajevo TV, Muratovic rejected a piecemeal
approach to problems.
"We must come up with a package of measures for establishing
Federal institutions," he said.
However, agreement was reached on the future Federal flag and
coat-of-arms, except for some minor details, Zubak and Muratovic
said.
These details would be settled by Zubak and Izetbegovic on
Thursday, after which the flag and coat-of-arms would be submitted
to the Federal Parliament.
Agreement was also reached on the functioning of joint police
in the Mostar canton. Joint police units would be set up in
compliance with earlier agreements, with a rotating Superintendent.
Both Zubak and Muratovic described today's meeting as packed
with "lively debate" which nevertheless helped bring the two sides
closer.
The meeting was chaired by Michael Steiner. Also present was
President of the Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic.
