ZAGREB, Oct 8 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Tuesday
sent a letter to Pope John Paul II, who had undergone an appendix
surgery, wishing him a speedy recovery from his illness, the
President's Office said in a statement.
"I have received with great concern news of the illness that
has befallen you and am sending you my personal wishes, as well as
the wishes of the Croatian Government and the entire Croatian
people, for good health and a speedy recovery," the letter said in
part.
