VINKOVCI/LIPOVAC, 5 Oct (Hina) - Croatian Parliament chairman
Vlatko Pavletic and representatives of several county assemblies on
Saturday visited villages in eastern Slavonia, which is under U.N.
transitional administration (UNTAES). The villages of Lipovac,
Apsavci and Podgradje are part of a pilot-program on the return of
displaced persons.
'We cannot allow the postponement of the return of displaced
persons', Pavletic stated in Lipovac.
'The Croatian Danubian area is being systematically plundered
and Croatian property is being transported to Yugoslavia, which is
unacceptable. The Croat people will work no more for plunderers. We
want the elections to be held within agreed deadlines and we want
the UNTAES to leave after that', Pavletic said.
The Croatian Parliament chairman also visited Vinkovci where
he met the president of Croatian county assemblies. The talks
focused on the functioning of local authorities and self-government
bodies.
Participants in the meeting sent a massage to the UNTAES
administration, protesting over the cancellation of their visit to
Vukovar.
