SARAJEVO, Oct 4 (Hina) - President of Bosnia-Herzegovina's
Presidency Alija Izetbegovic, Friday said the Paris meeting with
Serbia's President Milosevic helped achieve three currently most
important goals to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"Besides establishing diplomatic relations, we also got the
clear confirmation of Bosnia-Herzegovina's statehood and the
confirmation of its (eastern) border alongside the Drina river,"
Izetbegovic told a press conference on the eve of Saturday's
inauguration of Bosnia-Herzegovina's newly-elected Presidency and
Parliament.
At the Paris summit Milosevic exerted no pressure on Bosnia to
withdraw the aggression charges against the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia (Serbia/Montenegro), filed to the International Justice
Tribunal, he added.
Recalling that judicial proceedings and court trial could take
about ten years, Izetbegovic said Belgrade had enough time until
July 1997 to answer the charges.
"Then we will see whether we derive more benefit from further
open cooperation with Serbia or from abidance by the charges," he
said.
