ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan
Simonovic on Tuesday received a delegation of the Slovakian
Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, headed by Committee
Deputy Chairwoman Irena Belohorska.
Simonovic emphasized the importance of a successful
implementation of the peaceful reintegration of the Serb-held
Danube river area and the continuation of efforts at integrating
Croatia into Euro-Atlantic political and security institutions.
Simonovic thanked Slovakia for its support to Croatia's bid
for full membership in the Council of Europe.
The Slovakian delegation was also received by Croatian
Parliament President Vlatko Pavletic. "Croatia and Slovakia have
many similarities and therefore should cooperate at all levels,"
Pavletic said.
Belohorska said that Slovakia had much more understanding for
Croatia than some other countries. "It is natural that our two
countries should support each other whenever necessary," she
emphasized.
